The Countdown Begins.

Today is October 10, 2010 (10.10.10) – can’t think of a better day to make this kind of announcement:

On November 27, 2010, the Ford family will be relocating to the beautiful city of Austin, Texas!

Since coming to Atlanta back in 1994 to attend Clark Atlanta University, I have been blessed with a wonderful wife and three incredible children, the opportunity to serve in one of the largest ministries in the world, and the ability to meet and learn from a great community of friends and leaders.

Yet during the spring of 2007, my wife Imani and I began to chart out a new course for our family; one that involved anchoring ourselves within a new environment that embodied the goals, values, and margin for growth that we believe would be necessary for what God has in store for us.

After a two-year long study into several cities, ranging from San Diego (CA) to Alexandria (VA), it was the city of Austin, Texas that finally won our hearts. In fact, the race wasn’t even close.

From its focus on innovation and business, to real estate and exemplary schools, Austin is now ranked one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the country. And being the home of the enormous University of Texas, not to mention serving as the ‘live music capital of the world,’ Austin is sure to keep things interesting for the Ford family all year long. And wacky to say the least.

We solicit your prayers as we begin this brand new journey together. We are extremely excited and anxious to see all that God will do in and through us as we plant ourselves in a place called Austin.
