Over the past couple of days, I have been quite fascinated with the life of Elijah the prophet. Aside from Moses and our Savior Jesus Christ, the prophet Elijah is perhaps one of the most polarizing figures found throughout the entire Bible.
In Chapter 17 of 1 Kings, Elijah seems to emerge out of thin air and manages to muster up enough courage to visit with King Ahab, the ruler of Israel during that time (and an awful one at that), and tells him that there would be a severe drought in the land; a drought that would in fact not end unless Elijah commanded it to, under the Lord’s guidance.
