A Friday Recap.

Haven’t done a Friday recap in a while, so I figured today I give it a shot again:

  • Last night, I cracked a MAJOR ministry code for the city of Austin. At least I think I did. We’ll see very soon.
  • I truly believe that God must be punishing some of us as men for NOT making our wives a priority. Both the NBA and the NFL are headed towards a lock out this fall? #havemercyonusOGod!
  • Headed to Target this weekend to pick up another Jenga game. Haven’t played in a while, but after writing THIS, it may be time to sharpen up my skills.
  • “A Leader’s Goal: To be under no illusion regarding where things are at, but be able to see things the way they CAN become!” – @BrianCHouston
  • Searching for a great stand-up work desk option for my office. Thinking of trying something new.
  • This dry season Austin is experiencing right now has nothing on the conditions in Arabia.
  • Been truly thankful for so many friends who have helped us CELEBRATE what God has recently been up to with our family.
  • Finally getting around to reading Seth Godin’s Poke The Box. I tend to rush out and purchase every one of Seth’s books on the day it releases, but I’ve been rather slow to pick this one up. Perhaps it’s because this one actually scares me. Changing methods usually is.

A Friday Recap.

  • Received an awesome call earlier this month about an awesome opportunity to serve alongside an awesome organization here in Texas. Hope to hear back something awesome from them soon.
  • I’ve come to realize that the true beauty of two-parent household is that when one parent wants to be a vessel of PUNISHMENT, the other tends to step in a be a vessel of GRACE.
  • For a limited time, I am offering supporters of this blog a chance to download an E-Book version of my book for only 83 cents. No, that’s not a typo.
  • “Leaders: Don’t give people permission to walk with you if you won’t give them permission to talk with you.” – Tim Ross
  • My love for Austin, TX can’t possibly grow any deeper. Especially after reading articles like THIS.
  • I joined Twitter on 10.11.08, and earlier this week, I found a guy who joined on the exact same day. So far, I have tweeted 6,295 times; he has 95,233 times. Praying for his wife immensely.
  • Wrote HERE this week how most men (including myself) are indeed cheaters.
  • Convinced more and more that my next book is going to be really special. At least it will to me.
  • For the past several months, our speedometer has not been working properly. Picked up a valuable lesson from it too.
  • After four years of blogging, and trying on over 16 to 17 templates, I have FINALLY found a design I am completely pleased with for this site. Be sure to let me know how you like it.
  • One more link for the men: time for us all to step our game up. way up. {see video}

A Friday Recap.

  1. The finish line for grad school is approaching. Not much longer now.
  2. Haven’t been able to post anything for several days now. {need to take Jon Acuff’s advice here}
  3. Currently in California this week for the homegoing services of my childhood pastor, Rev. John Nix-McReynolds. Most of whom I am today in God I have to credit this man and THIS CHURCH for.
  4. Have about 13 more people to write and post special prayers for in honor of Lent. Can’t wait to focus in on their requests.
  5. Had the opportunity to design the website for the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship Int’l Annual Conference this month. Just launched it today.
  6. Going to be releasing the first chapter of my brand new book HERE in just a few days. Be sure to become a ‘fan’ soon so you can read a little of it before it releases this fall.
  7. I haven’t even finished reading it yet, but Necessary Endings by Dr. Henry Cloud is creeping up into my top 10 books of all time. Anyone currently in (or seeking) transition should read this one. Right now.
  8. “Opportunity is where the problems are.” – Marvin Williams {favorite quote of the week}
