Being First vs. Being Right.

One of my favorite old school game shows was Family Feud. I always thought if my family had the opportunity to be on that show, we would have certainly made a killing. Not because of our ability to work together, but because every contestant seemed to have the same fundamental flaw:

They wanted to answer FIRST more than they wanted to answer RIGHT.

As leaders, especially those of us who serve and lead within the local church, there are times when we are guilty of doing the same. Answering right is not always as popular as answering first because it takes much more thought and time; not to mention consulting with others on our team before we speak out.

Answering first always seems to be the more cooler option. That is until we open up our mouths.
